Beside hair wash we more and more want to also condition hair. Solutions two in one are something women like the most. One cosmetic with two different properties, this is what we are talking about! Unfortunately, hair care must be matched with the hair type, in contrast to the universal hair wash.
Therefore, there appear the question: what kind of shampoo to choose?
The best way to choose shampoo great for your hair is to analyse the composition. For most people the INCI system of names is a true black magic, hard to understand. Nonetheless, it is worth to remember few ingredients that you should avoid. This will allow you to reject some shampoos with content of them. Harmful ingredients in shampoos are among many: Alcohol Benzyl, Alcohol Denat, Trimethicone, Simethicone, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Mineral Oil, DEA, MEA, TEA, PEG or PPG.
Obviously, there are much more harmful substances, but the one mentioned above are the worst. If shampoo is free of them, you can take it into consideration. On the further stage, what counts is to match shampoo with hair type.
Shampoo for dry and damaged hair – it must contain a lot of conditioning, hydrating and nourishing substances; it is best if it contain natural vegetable oils or butters (in particular these for high porosity hair, i.e. unsaturated, with large particles); perfect for dry hair are proteins and lipids, which retain water in the inner hair structures.
Shampoo for curly hair – it should contain ingredients that counter frizzing and emphasise coil; it is great if they also contain oils (e.g. palm or shorea); perfect would be shampoo with addition of smoothing and regenerating aloe juice.
Shampoo for oily hair – it is best if contains substances that inhibit action of sebaceous glands and make it difficult for the sebum to spread on the entire hair length; best is cleansing shampoo, that will not cause irritations to the scalp; it is very good if this cosmetic contains ingredients restoring water-lipid balance in hair.
Shampoo for fine hair – it must consist of strengthening and protecting ingredients complex, because fine strands are much more subjected to damages; this shampoo should hold delicate silicon, keratin, anti-oxidants and UV filter; best if with amino-peptides that provide volume and increase thickness of hair.
Shampoo for hair with dandruff – it should always contain conditioning substances as well as have anti-fungal action; such shampoo must not only clean scalp, but also prevent excess keratinizing and exfoliation of epidermis; it is good if calms irritations; best shampoos are these with zinc, menthol, active selenium, ginseng extract and vitamin E.
